Itinerary:
Departing Proserpine at 7am we headed straight to the Diggings camp ground where we secured our spots and then headed off to explore some surrounding tracks. We made our way to the Denman Ranges camp area for lunch with an outstanding view.
After lunch we headed further south to explore some more off road and tracks which lead us to a beautiful lookout before looping around and heading back to camp for the evening.
The next morning we headed off out of Eungella with the plan to stop in and explore Captains Crossing on the way back to the Whitsundays but decided to take an alternative route via a more challenging track which was a lot of fun but ended up taking us a lot longer than originally planned. A few winch outs and one flat tyre later and we were through and all very happy with what we had accomplished.
After that, we got back on course and headed back down Eungella hill and stopped off for lunch at pinnacle pub for the best crumbed schnitzel in town! We then turned off down the road to Captains Crossing where we explored along the creek bed and had a swim in the fresh water rock pools.
It was a successful weekend and great end of year trip for the club!
